2007 e63 amg for $19,000. Not huge on the color but I would still buy it though.

To date, best looking E class. Nice and healthy looking.

I like the 212 a little better, but nothing wrong with the 211. Very solid car.

Too angular, but dont get me wrong, they look good, but in their own light. The 211 looks more organic in its shape, the 212 looks like a transformer.

I agree — and I initially disliked the design language when I first saw the GLK. Then I suddenly started loving it.
The 210 was a little too “blobby” but still kept the old-school Mercedes sedan shape.
The 211 didn’t scream “Mercedes” to me, but is still a really good design.
There’s just something about the 212 that got to me — maybe it was the fact that they used all those angles and still managed to get good aerodynamics out of it. It sort of bucked the trend.
I normally don’t like most overly-modern designs, but that one was an exception. The S-Class of the era, though, I absolutely hated. I just feel like they can’t get the design right, while the last couple 7-series, A8, Phaeton, and even the Lexus LS have been beautiful.

Are these generations of E63s reliable? Does anyone have one/know anyone who owns one?

I Agree on almost all those points. For 1 my father/boss had a late model E class, and what I like about it was the long-ass hood! Made it feel like you were driving a space ship (or whatever has a long hood). Alos In the higher trim levels it looked pretty agressive.
I was never crazy about the 90s designs I thought they looked really dated in comparison to the rest of the market, both inside and out. (I hate all merc interiors, because eventually you find that one cost cutting knob/dial that feels insanely cheap, “looking at you climate control”)
Yea the 211 was very different, they went from chubby boxes, to much smoother shapes over all their models. My fave was the E class, best in show compared to its bretheren line up.
Also I have a soft spot for the S class, specifically the W221, got to drive an S65 from Newark to a friends house, an amazing experince. The 220 was an after thought, not very exciting looking, a rich mans camry. Great bang for your buck though. (all german flag ships for that matter, since they depriciate as fast as stones tossed into a lake)
